EB Games on Facebook http: EB Games on Twitter Canada https: Current CAG Trade Trade Thread NOT OFFICIAL. Starts today for GameStop's in select regions! Bring in your old stuff ps2. These trade values are INSANELY good. We will take first party accessories, systems, and select games only a certain region can take all games. If you want examples:. Most of the retro stuff we take trades in for AT LEAST HALF of what it's worth most of the ones I looked up its more. Call your local gamestop locations to see if they take your retro stuff! I'll be uploading a list of games that we're taking at 'special value'. All games not on the list get a generic price like other-used items. Not all stores in the retro test are accepting "generic" games not on the list. I believe only region 21 is doing that, while the other regions are only taking the games on the list. I like the idea of being able to buy retro games and systems from gamestop. The local game stores in my area that do retro all overcharge and don't really have any great deals aside from the niche slip through. If gamestop can push them to better price their items id be a fan of that. We do not toss cases for games. The exception is regular DS games, because they get clamshelled or put in the yellow sleeves because of the abundance of them. Most people don't keep cases for those anyways. It creates more work for an employee to toss the case out and make a new one. The reason we have games with GameStop art is someone traded in the game without a case. My local store in SC tossed DS cases. My store now in MN saves me DS cases and gives them to me and I pass then out to friends who need them to complete the loose games we all got from GS lol. Then it sucks a little bit for you, but it's not practical for stores to keep the cases for all the games. The cases are large and bulky, and they would take a lot of room, which most stores don't have. It is however, cool that gamestop local store ps2 holding onto cases for you. All about that customer service: Yep and I fill out every single feedback thing on my receipts to make sure they get good reviews for corporate. I especially appreciate they don't do their trade in crap every time I come in since I know about it and never trade just buy way too much stuff. I still say gamestop do on the survey though. They are the best! Ps2 my friend Rachel is the worst type of customer so not every customer trade the best. She screams and yells. Three times just over amiibos. She needs to go scream at Nintendo. Yeah I figured it wasn't crazy rare but I feel like it's a game that should be in the system. Ps2 in one aspect, yes. In another aspect, they excelled in the ability to have all the test systems ready to try out the games you're wanting to buy. So what are some examples of the prices they're going to sell games ps2 Is there going to be any distinction between boxed games or cart only? I'm pretty excited for this but I have so many questions! Don't know what generic games will system as we can't take them on trade. Almost every game, accessory, or system I looked up; gets at least half back or more of what we sell it for. Does anyone have a list of trade values for games and consoles, or do I have to call into my local store and ask? Values probably won't be officially published anywhere as they will decrease once more and more stuff is coming in. Is there a way to find out which stores are doing this right now? I can't call for several hours. No if I remember correctly when we were originally ps2 ps2 games they told us not to take that version. I know someone with a few of the games on the Sega link but he's from Chicago, Does anyone know if it's works over here? As a retro game system, this intrigues me. It seems that GameStop is quite serious about entering the retro game market. The prices they are offering right now are quite fair; a slight loss compared to selling online, but without the hassle. The sale prices are pretty close to fair market value as well. However, I do have some concerns. What condition do the items console, cart, disc have to trade in for GameStop to accept them? If the label is torn or faded on the cartridge, does that impact the value? How about loose discs? Can the items be tested in the store? If they have to ps2 shipped off to be tested and are found to not be working, how will that be handled? Will gamestop customer have a chance to get them ps2 Are employees being trained to spot counterfeit reproduction cartridges and discs? Once GameStop starts taking system valuable games like EarthBound and Musha, you can bet that some people will make reproductions to try to profit from it. Finally, once the online store opens, will the customer have system way system determine the condition of the item they is purchasing? While it may not matter for certain people and on trade low value items, condition is everything to collectors. If GameStop makes reproduction labels, that is not going to sit well with the collecting crowd either. There needs to be different price points between damaged and mint items. GameStop will have to be mindful of the consumer base of the retro game market if they want to be successful in this venture. While there are a lot of retro game enthusiasts out there, the collectors are the ones responsible for the high price points on many of these games. If they pay fair market value on a game, they'll trade to get it in a condition matching that price. The people who just want to play the games can get them much cheaper on virtual console. A lot of that I don't have an answer for because that's all up to corporate and what they do at the ROC. But we can't take any items system are defaced or damaged. No torn wires, etc. Just like anything we take in, it has to be in good physical condition. The system needs to be powered on and no physical damage to it. We take it in, send it off, and they refurbish it and will start selling them online. I'm assuming if this goes well and rolls out nationwide then we will roll it out to stores, but that's just my guess. Thanks for taking time trade reply. I'm sure more information will trickle down from corporate in the coming weeks and months. Either way, it will be interesting to see how this develops. By default, the four options are all selected, and it is recommended that you leave these selected to do as thorough of a check as possible.
